Description

1.5 hours of personalized skills, techniques, marksmanship, and/or tactics training based on the students skill levels. This course is for novice to intermediate students.  Platforms covered are pistol or carbine, at the students request.  Any and all methods of carry can be covered regarldess of platform, when the desire is communicated and the necessary skill level is achieved.  This is as long as they can safely demonstrate the ability to handle such a request.  Defensive Bravo Instructors will determine your ability.  Utilizing a "crawl, walk, run" training philosophy, skills will be stacked upon and stress added as retention of content is achieved.

If this is your first class, we will start with dry fire or laser dry fire with either your firearm or a company firearm provided by Defensive Bravo.  Upon safely demonstrating laser dry fire qualification, then we will add live fire.  Be advised, additional and more challenging skills may require us to go back to dry fire, laser dry fire, or even training weapons, to safely stack the new technique and or tactic effectively into the students mindset.  This all depends on the students performance.  Highly professional students will see the lasers rarely, if at all.

If you would like a different date than what is offered, please contact the instructor to request a date(s) for the course.  Most classes requested for 2 weeks after date of request, can be met.

Requirements

If you are a new student you simply need to wear pants with a belt.  No shorts will ever be allowed for safety reasons.  Training weapons will be provided for dry fire drills.  Laser dry fire equipment will also be provided when deemed necessary to utilize.  When you qualify for laser dry fire or live fire, you can use your firearm of choice to train with or one can be rented at the Shoot Smart Range.  For requests of specific model rentals for class, include that information in the email to defensivebravo@gmail.com but be advised, not all models are available, but most calibers and platforms are.  And it is always best to train with the weapon(s) you intend to utilize for self defense.  Your gun is always the best gun to train with.

When you are qualified for live fire, ammo will be the responsibility of the student and can be purchased at the range for most common calibers.  For a guarantee, bring ammo to class.  Round count is approximately 50 rounds per hour, regardless of platform.

Bring any and all gear you want to train with.  For example, if you want to learn to "draw from holster" with your firearm, bring a holster.  The range only rents firearms, not gear.  Some basic gear can be bought at the range however.

Eye and Ear protection can be purchased at the range if needed.  Bring your own if you have them.  Prescription glasses are eye protection.  Electronic hearing protection is recomended, but not required.

A baseball cap or hat is recomended but not required.

No low cut shirts is recomended as hot shell casings can cause minor burns.
