Description

2 hours of beginner level skills, techniques, and marksmanship training for first time and beginnner shooters.  Platform covered is the AR15 or Modern Sporting Rifle.  We will go over loading, reloading, sight alignment, sight picture, basic weapon manipulation, dismantling/cleaning, and basic malfunction clearing.  You will learn the basics of using iron sights and red dot optics systems on standard 16.5" barrel AR15 models.

This class is a dry fire and live fire class.  Ammunition usage is minimal and will be less than 50 rounds per student.  All company weapons are in 5.56mm.  You can bring your unloaded firearm to learn on if you like, but you must inform Defensive Bravo via email if you are bringing your weapon.  If you do not have a weapon, Defensive Bravo will be providing company weapons and optic systems mentioned above in the class.

Depending on class size, we will either be at Shoot Smart, or Extreme Tactics and Training Solutions.  Email defensivebravo@gmail.com for locations.

If you would like a different date than what is offered, please contact the instructor to request a date(s) for the course.  Most classes requested for 2 weeks after date of request, can be met.

Expectations and Outcomes

This is an introductory class created for first time and beginner shooters.  It is designed to slowly, and safely, ease the student into firearms for self defense.  By the end of this class you will have a basic knowledge of the topics mentioned above and will be a more well informed firearms consumer.  Students who complete this course are qualified for live fire in the Intermediate level courses.

You are expected to perform when you come to a training class with Defensive Bravo.  The outcome will be the ever growing ability for you to defend yourself and your family like the professionals do.  Emphasis on safety, mindset, stress management, marksmanship, and tactics curated for each individual student.

Requirements

If you are a new student you simply need to wear pants with a belt.  No shorts will ever be allowed for safety reasons.  Training weapons will be provided for dry fire drills, or when deemed necessary.  You can use your firearm of choice to train with or you can use the many provided in this class.  It is always best to train with the weapon(s) you intend to utilize for self defense.  Your gun is always the best gun to train with.  You must inform Defensive Bravo via email if you are bringing your own firearm.

Unless otherwise instructed, ammunition is the responsibility of the student.  Both ranges provide ammunition for sale, but it isn't always in stock.  It's best to have 50 rounds with you per hour of training.  No steel casing or steel core rounds.

Eye and Ear protection can be purchased at the range if needed, but again, not always in stock.  Bring your own if you have them.  Prescription glasses qualify as eye protection.  Electronic hearing protection is recomended, but not required.

A baseball cap or hat is recomended but not required.

No low cut shirts is recomended as hot shell casings can cause minor burns.
