Description

In order to become a NRA Basic Pistol Instructor you must take three courses. These three courses include: NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course, Basic Instructor Training and the requited "Student Portion" or Instructor-LED. All of these will be offered across 2 Day block & included in the cost of the course.

Basic Pistol Instructor Course:
Name: NRA Instructor Pistol Shooting Course
Short Description: This 16-hour course teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Pistol Shooting course.
More Details: Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises. Candidates must complete the Basics of Pistol Shooting student course (Instructor LED) which is included in this course.

Topics Covered

Description: Course is presented in two parts: basic instructor training, and discipline specific instructor training. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide and NRA Pistol Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet.

Requirements

  1. Qualification Pistol (you can use a .22 if you’d like)
  2. Qualification Ammo - minimum 20 rounds* (you will also be allowed to “warm up” if you’d like)
  3. Eye & Ear Protection
  4. Centerfire Semi Automatic Pistol .9mm or above. 
  5. Centerfire Ammo for Pistol your’e bringing, 50 rounds
  6. Sack Lunch/Dinner (or $ to go to a nearby fastfood restaurant) 
  7. Snacks & drinks
  8. Highlighter, Notebook, pen and pencil
  9. Jacket (sometimes chilly in the classroom)
  10. $35 range fee
