Type(s): Advanced, Basic, Intermediate, CCW, Other, Scenario Based Training, USCCA Courses
Instructor: Alpha Defense Academy, LLC - Phillip Bartolacci View Bio
This class emphasizes the concept of counter ambush training and how you can be best prepared to understand what your body will experience, the skills you need to develop and the principles of balancing speed and precision. Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 is ideal for both novice (but safe) shooters as well as experienced shooters who want to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes of safe and effective self-defense with a firearm
You must successfully complete and pass the USCCA eLearning module and provide a copy of your Certificate to us PRIOR to the class.
You must have a modern (striker-fired preferred) handgun with at least 3 magazines, a holster of your choosing (IWB, OWB, Appendix OK), a heavy belt, magazine carriers and 500 FMJ rounds.
You should also have appropriate eye/ear protection, a billed or brimmed hat, weather appropriate clothing, water, snacks and lunch. A notebook and pen is suggested.
If possible, a second firearm as a back-up is suggested if available in case of a failure or issue.
Defensive Shooting Fundamentals will guide you through the steps you'll need to take to go from just sending rounds downrange to actually training in specific, tested methods of armed self-defense. From stance to grip to physical shooting technique, Defensive Shooting Fundamentals Level 1 will help you hone the edge on your inner warrior expert. You'll get your body working with your gun instead of against it, you'll learn which intuitive skills work best with what your body will naturally do while under stress in a combat situation, and you'll learn to apply this information simply and effectively - regardless of your skill level.
