Class ONLY.

This class is designed to teach the knowledge, skills, and attitude to teach the NRA Basic Pistol Course.

This is an instructor level class.

Students are expected to have the appropriate basic knowledge, skills, and attitude. Students without these may be expelled, barred, fail to pass, etc. without refund.

Expectations and Outcomes

Students who pass the written exam (90% or higher) and shooting qualification and are subjectively determined to handle a firearm safely, will earn the NRA Basic Pistol Certification at the end of the course.

NRA Qualification Levels:

Level 1: 4 five shot groups at 10 ft. within a 4 inch group
Level 2: 4 five shot groups at 15 ft. within a 4 inch group
Level 3: 4 five shot groups at 20 ft. within a 4 inch group
Level 4: 16/20 shots within a 6 inch group*

*Must Qualify at Level 4 to be considered as an instructor.

Student is not garanteed enough time during the course to reach a particular level. Indoor ranges charge additional fees, and outdoor range have the added complication of losing light.

Student must arrange additional time with the instructor. Additional fees may apply.

Students are NOT guaranteed to pass the course.

1. Government issued photo ID.
2. Student NRA Pistol Certificate
3. NRA BIT (Basic Instructor Training Certificate)
4. Documentation of a passed pre-qualification (or Instructor will schedule time to do this with you)

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

-At least 200 rounds of ammunition.

-Firearm
-Otherwise, use NRA Pistol gear list and general gear list as a base.


We EXPECT you to have your own serviceable pistol at the instructor level.
