NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Certification Course

This class will be held at a private classroom location in Coconut Creek, Florida. Address will be provided to students after registration.

The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course prepares individuals to safely oversee shooting activities and manage ranges. Whether you are an experienced shooter, an instructor-in-training, or simply someone who wants to deepen your knowledge of firearms safety, this course builds the skills and confidence to create a safe shooting environment.

Even if you don’t plan to serve as a Range Safety Officer, this class will make you a safer and more confident shooter. Anytime we are on the range, we are all safety officers, and this training takes that mindset to the next level.

  • NRA-developed curriculum taught by Certified Chief Range Safety Officers

  • Classroom and practical exercises included

This is a valuable course for instructors, range staff, shooting sports enthusiasts, and anyone committed to promoting a culture of safe and responsible firearms use.

Refund Policy:

  • Cancellations made on or before September 23 will receive a refund minus a $50 materials fee
  • Cancellations made September 24 - September 30 will receive a 50% refund
  • Cancellations made on or after October 1 are non-refundable
  • Refunds are non-transferable between payment methods (e.g., Venmo payments will only be refunded via Venmo)

Requirements

  • Age: Participants must be 21 years of age or older to receive NRA RSO certification. Students under 21 may audit the course with instructor approval but will not receive certification.

  • NRA Membership: Not required, but recommended — membership simplifies processing and provides additional benefits such as resources and insurance options. Applications for NRA membership will be available in class from the instructor.

  • Experience: No prior instructor certification is required. You do not need to be an NRA Instructor to become a Range Safety Officer.
