Requires PRIOR completion of NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting and completion of BIT within two years.

You'll also learn teaching safely, instructional methods, what to look for, how to evaluate beginning rifle shooters, how to improve them and conclude with the written exam.

Instructor Candidates who complete and pass all courses get an NRA Rifle Instructor Certificate.

Rental Rifles are limited and "first come, first served".

Students will be emailed;

  • Sample NRA Rifle Instructor target to print and practice with
  • NRA Rifle Performance Qualification Checklist
  • NRA Instructor Questionnaire
Students will be required to fill out and sign our CFT Waiver.
No seats are guaranteed until they are paid for.

Requirements

Basic requirements are a rifle (.22 is preferred but not required), one magazine, 200 rounds of ammunition, highlighter, pen/paper for notes.
For the instructor manuals you will need two 3 ring binders (1.5").  You will be provided all printed materials.
Instructor qualification may be with Iron Sights/BUIS, Red Dot/Holographic Sights or a Scope.
10 rounds from each position; Benchrest, prone & Standing (unsupported) for a total of 30 rounds. 2 points given per hit in target circle. 12/20 is minimum passing score per target and 48/60 points is minimum total passing score. (Can't miss more than 4 shots per target and no more than 6 shots total)
