Expectations and Outcomes

What is a Court-Ordered Gun Safety Class?

A Court-Ordered Gun Safety Class is an educational course that may be required by a court, probation department, attorney, employer, or government agency. The class focuses on firearm safety, responsible firearm ownership, and Colorado firearm laws.

Will this class satisfy my court order?

In many cases, yes. However, every court order is different. We recommend reviewing your paperwork and contacting us before registering if you have questions. You should also confirm acceptance with your attorney, probation officer, or the referring court when appropriate.

Is an online Court-Ordered Gun Safety Class acceptable?

We generally do not recommend online-only firearm safety classes unless you have written approval from the referring court, probation officer, attorney, or agency. Our course is taught in person by NRA Certified Instructors and Colorado Sheriff & Police Verified Firearms Instructors, providing direct interaction, personalized instruction, and the opportunity to ask questions throughout the class.

Do I need previous firearm experience?

No. This course is designed for students of all experience levels, including individuals with no prior firearm experience.

Do I need to bring a firearm?

No. Unless specifically instructed otherwise, students should not bring a firearm or ammunition. This is a classroom-based firearm safety course.

What should I bring to class?

Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID and any paperwork provided by your court, probation department, attorney, employer, or referring agency.

How long is the course?

Most classes are completed in approximately 2 to 4 hours, depending on student participation and discussion.

How many students are in each class?

Classes are conducted one-on-one or in small groups of four students or fewer, allowing for personalized instruction and a comfortable learning environment.

Who teaches the class?

Our instructors are experienced NRA Certified Instructors and Colorado Sheriff & Police Verified Firearms Instructors dedicated to providing professional, respectful, and informative firearm safety training.

Will I receive a Certificate of Completion?

Yes. Students who successfully complete the course receive a Certificate of Completion that may be provided to the referring court, probation department, attorney, employer, or government agency.

Can my attorney or probation officer verify my completion?

Yes. With your authorization, we can verify your successful completion of the course for your attorney, probation officer, or other referring agency.

Is live-fire shooting required?

No. This course is classroom-based and focuses on firearm safety, Colorado firearm laws, and responsible firearm ownership. Live-fire training is not required unless specifically requested by the referring authority.

Can I take this class voluntarily?

Absolutely. Although many students attend because they have been referred by a court or another agency, anyone interested in improving their firearm safety knowledge is welcome to enroll.

What if I'm not sure this class meets my requirements?

Contact us before registering. We'll be happy to discuss your situation, review your paperwork, and help determine whether our course appears to meet your educational requirements.
