You will complete all Tennessee state-mandated requirements for the Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit while receiving instruction designed to build real confidence, not just satisfy a checklist.

Develop the core skills that matter most for safe and accurate shooting, including grip, stance, sight picture, trigger control, and recoil management.

We thoroughly prepare students for the required written test. Even if it has been years since you last took an exam, we will help you feel ready and confident.

The state-required range qualification is conducted safely and professionally. Even if you have never fired a handgun before, we will guide you step by step and help you feel prepared.

Documentation Requirements

If you plan to obtain your Tennessee Enhanced Handgun Carry Permit and have not already applied, please complete the following steps before attending class:

1. Visit the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security website:
   https://dl.safety.tn.gov

2. Select the “Handgun Permits” option.

3. Log in using the required information:

   • Last Name

   • Date of Birth

   • Driver’s License Number

   • Social Security Number

4. Complete and submit your permit application.
   Once submitted, you will receive an Application Number.

5. Email your Application Number to:

• A valid Tennessee Driver’s License (required for verification)

Completing this process in advance helps ensure a smooth, efficient class experience and avoids delays.

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

Requirements

To participate in the live-fire portion of the class, students must have the following:

• A functional handgun suitable for training (or, rent one of ours at checkout)

• 50 rounds of factory ammunition (or, it is provieded if you rent a firearm from us)

• Eye protection
  (Safety glasses recommended; regular eyeglasses or sunglasses are acceptable.  We also offer them at checkout)

• Hearing protection
  (Earplugs or earmuffs - or, reserve this at checkout)
  
  
• $10 Range Fee

For your safety and comfort on the range:

• No open-toed shoes (closed-toe shoes required)

• No low-cut shirts

• Hats are strongly recommended to help deflect spent brass

If you don’t own the required gear or prefer not to bring your own, we offer convenient add-ons at registration:

• Handgun rental

• Ammunition

• Electronic hearing protection rental

• Safety glasses available for purchase

These options are especially helpful for first-time shooters or anyone traveling light.
