One of the best know firearms instructors of all time, Jeff Cooper, said it best: “Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”
Having a gun without proper training creates a false sense of security. Sure you know how to point it and pull the trigger, but do you really know how to use the tool? Your life and the lives of others may well depend upon your skills with a firearm. With that being the case, can you afford not to know how to use it to the best of your ability???
Without adequate skills which come through proper training, at best you have a club and at worst you give the enemy a weapon to use against you.
Please note that this course is designed to go beyond the course we teach to prepare you for obtaining a Tennessee Handgun Permit. If that is the course you are looking for, be sure to visit: www.tncarrypermits.com.
This 8 hour course is designed for those carrying a handgun for personal defense and those who want to go deeper than just learning enough to legally obtain a carry permit. While it will not make you a tactical ninja, it will help you become proficient in carrying a firearm every day. We have designed this course to cover the fundamentals needed to acquire sufficient skill to deploy a handgun in defense of yourself and others.
The course will combine classroom drills, scenarios to enforce shoot/no shoot decision making, and live fire training.
