Due to the nationwide problems with the Sig 320 with negligent discharges, this gun will no longer be allowed in classes.
- THIS IS NOT A BIGINNERES CLASS YOU ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE SAFETY SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE OF YOUR FIREARM AND EQUIPMENT!!
- The Defensive Pistol Course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly, and confidently. As a result of participating in this course, the student will be able to explain and demonstrate the following: How to apply the Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm, basic principles of concealment, the difference between cover and concealment, drawing from the holster, levels of mental awareness, developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection, clearing standard stoppages, use of pocket pistols, and more.

The expectations of this course is you will walk away from it with the firm knowledge and the confidence to carry a firearm every day for personal defense and home defense. You know the main functions of your firearm, the fundamentals of malfunction clearing. And most of all, safe gun handling.

Registration/Waivers/Intake Forms
This needs to be completed and returned to ensure your registration is completed along with a copy of your FOID & Driver's License.. This is needed to generate a course certificate.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
The instructor requires a copy of your Concealed Carry Weapons permit once you register.
Requirements
- Firearm, Holster, and Ammo Requirements:
- Your firearm must be fully functional, have all factory-installed safety devices intact, and have no dangerous modifications (such as a "hair" trigger under 4 pounds, removed trigger guard, etc.). "Pocket Pistols" are not allowed due to their small size and difficulty of use. Holsters must correctly fit the firearm, completely cover the trigger guard, not be made of Nylon, and remain open when the firearm is removed. Factory ammunition is required, NO reloads. Electronic hearing protection is mandatory and is available at numerous retailers. The minimum age is 21 if taking the course unaccompanied. The minimum age is 18 if taking the course with a parent or guardian. You will need 200 rounds of ammunition, a firearm, a holster, concealment garments such as a jacket, etc., two extra magazines and magazines pouches or speed loaders, and eye protection is also required. Your firearm should be 380 or larger. Shoes comfortable with sufficient support to permit a full range of motion
