Expectations and Outcomes

During the live-fire qualification, every student is expected to already know how to safely and competently handle a firearm.
Specifically, you must demonstrate:

  • A proper, secure grip

  • Trigger discipline — your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire

  • Muzzle control — keeping the firearm pointed safely at all times

  • Marksmanship — hitting the target at least 36 out of 50 rounds

Failure to meet these standards will mean you cannot complete your qualification that day.
