Expectations and Outcomes
This advanced handgun course is designed for the average American citizen who has demonstrated basic firearms proficiency and safety, typically by completing Handgun 102. Building upon the skills learned in Handgun 101 and 102, students will advance their ability to deploy a handgun from an outside-the-waistband (OWB) holster under increased stress. Through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and live-fire range exercises, students will develop greater confidence, speed, and accuracy through timed drills and practical marksmanship scenarios. Key skills include advanced sight picture and target acquisition techniques, recoil management, critical shot placement, and responding to malfunctions with immediate and remedial action drills—all while maintaining strong situational awareness. The focus is on applying marksmanship fundamentals in realistic, high-pressure environments to reinforce safe, effective handgun use. This is not a concealed carry course; all training is conducted from an OWB or duty-style holster to maintain a clear focus on technical shooting skills and tactical readiness.
