Description

This comprehensive 5-hour course combines our Handgun Essentials class with the training required under Florida Statute 790.06 to apply for a Florida Concealed Weapon Permit (FLCWP). It is specifically designed for new and inexperienced shooters who want to safely learn how to operate a handgun while satisfying Florida's permit training requirement in one class.

Unlike permit-only classes that assume prior experience, this course begins with the fundamentals of safe firearm handling before progressing to the required live-fire qualification. Students will receive classroom instruction, hands-on dry-fire training, and live-fire coaching designed to develop safe firearm handling habits and basic marksmanship skills.

This course teaches students how to safely own and operate a handgun. It is not a defensive shooting or tactical training course. Students interested in learning how to deploy a firearm for personal protection are encouraged to continue their education with our Beyond the Permit - Personal Defense Handgun Skills or Defensive Mastery - Defensive Performance Handgun courses.
