Working with their own unloaded firearm under the guidance of a certified instructor, students will gain the confidence and skills needed to perform routine maintenance safely and correctly.

Students will learn the function of the rifle's major components, including the upper and lower receivers, bolt carrier group, charging handle, buffer system, and gas system. Additional discussion includes maintenance schedules based on round count and operating conditions, common causes of malfunctions, magazine maintenance, optics care, and best practices for long-term firearm storage.
