Description
Children’s and Family Handgun Familiarization is an introductory, safety-focused course designed to help children and families develop a basic understanding of handguns in a controlled educational environment. The course introduces students to the basic components, functions, terminology, and shooting fundamentals of a handgun without focusing on defensive or tactical applications.
Students will learn:
- Shooting Fundamentals — An introduction to the seven fundamental principles of shooting and how they contribute to safe, consistent, and responsible firearm handling.
- Handgun Familiarization — Identification of the primary parts of a handgun, their basic functions, and how the components work together.
- Basic Handgun Operation — An educational overview of basic handgun functions and terminology, presented in an age-appropriate and safety-conscious manner.
- Safe Handling Practices — Reinforcement of proper firearm safety practices and responsible behavior when handling or learning about handguns.
- Family Learning — Parents, guardians, and students learn together to establish a common understanding of safe and responsible handgun handling.
