About High Value Training Academy
Getting to know Jeff Goldstein:
If you have attended a course or community event with Jeff, you know he’s passionate about quality student outcomes. High-quality student outcomes happen when students get together, get educated, and get empowered. With decades of in-class instructional experience in corporate America, in higher education institutions, and at the shooting range, Jeff brings the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to help you achieve your shooting goals and have fun. Fun fact: Jeff is a bit of an analytics geek. He retains copies of his course completion surveys and enters all the data into Excel to track his results. Using his average scores and standard deviation, Jeff knows exactly where to make improvements to make your next experience even higher quality.
High Value Training Academy:
In 2023 Jeff founded High Value Training Academy, an Ohio nonprofit and IRS 501(c)(3) whose mission is to improve safety in the community by providing firearms training to everyone who is legally permitted to own and operate firearms. HVTA exists to support those individuals, regardless of their reason for purchasing a firearm, or ability to pay full price for a training class. We believe trained gun owners, who are familiar with safe gun handling, and take time to practice shooting support a safer community.
High Value Training Academy raises funds through private donations and course fees. The funds are used to subsidize or eliminate the cost to improve your firearms proficiency. This includes monthly Northeast Ohio no-cost community events that are open to the public and subsidized NRA training courses. We also offer discounts to organizations that support youth including Scouting America and Trail Life USA. HVTA has five volunteer board members, including Jeff, whose primary role is COO and volunteer Principal Educator.
Growing Up Around Firearms:
Jeffrey’s firearms journey stated as a child. Multiple generations of his family are predominantly from the Midwest and he has been around firearms his whole life. Firearms ownership became prevalent in Jeff’s family when his grandfather became the first in the family to actively train and carry a pistol daily. Carrying a pistol for personal protection became commonplace throughout multiple generations. As a teen Jeff was involved in archery and rifle shooting, which became his first two Merit Badge’s in Boy Scouts. As an adult Jeff combined his passion for teaching, his passion for firearms, and his passion for supporting his community into becoming a NRA certified firearms instructor.
