MARYLAND WEAR & CARRY PERMIT | RENEWAL COURSE

Description

Initial Maryland Wear and Carry Permits expire on the last day of the permit holder’s birth month, following two (2) years after the date the permit is issued, three (3) years each subsequent renewal. Unless exempt, you must complete an 8-hour firearms training course within two years of submitting your renewal application.

Renewal applications not received by the expiration date must be processed as new applicants and complete all the requirements necessary for an initial application.

A Maryland-qualified handgun Instructor conducts this Maryland Handgun Permit Recertification Course.

Topics Covered

Part 1 – In-Person Training:  9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Objectives:
 - State Firearm Law
 - Home Firearm Safety
 - Ethical Use of Force
 - Concealed Carry Fundamentals

Part 2 – Range Qualification
 - Live-fire gun safety and proficiency with a minimum score of 70% accuracy.
* You will receive a link to schedule your 1-on-1 range qualification for a convenient day and time after registration.

The exact location of the classroom and range will be provided after confirmed registration.

Expectations and Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive:
 1 – Maryland MSP 29-14 Certified Qualification Renewal Score Sheet
 2 – Certificate of Completion

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

The instructor requires a copy of your Concealed Carry Weapons permit once you register.

Requirements

• Prerequisite: Current/Active Maryland Handgun Permit

• Class Supplies:
  • Pen and paper

• Range Fee: $20 (cash only)

• Range Gear:

• Handgun with at least one magazine (if concealed carrying, appropriate holster for your handgun, no Serpa holsters allowed)

• Hearing and eye protection

• Range appropriate clothing

• Ammunition: 50 rounds FMJ
  
  

There will be NO LIVE AMMUNITION allowed during the classroom portion of training.

The exact classroom location will be released to registered students only.

State application fees are not included in the class price. 

You must be 21+ and legally able to possess a firearm with valid government photo ID to attend this course.
