Description
A focused, two-day performance handgun course for students who’ve completed a Practical-level curriculum and want high-value, repeatable skills for close-in defensive work. The class emphasizes Extreme Close-Quarters (ECQ) presentation and retention (0–3 yards), reliable shooting from unconventional positions, rapid engagement of partially-obscured threats, and short, repeatable scenarios that blend force-on-target skills with immediate casualty response. Trainable, measurable, and built to transfer to real-world stress and actual use-of-force situations.
Topics Covered
- Extreme Close-Quarters (ECQ) presentation & retention work (0–3 yards)
- Rapid presentation from concealment and immediate engagement at contact distance
- Shooting from non-standard positions: seated, car-seat, kneeling and supine
- Engaging partially-obscured threats
- One-hand incapacitation progressions (dominant & support hand)
- Short, integrated live-fire scenarios blending ECQ and position work, decision-making and casualty transition
- Wounded-shooter immediate actions and off-line tourniquet application (integration only)
Expectations and Outcomes
- Demonstrate safe, repeatable ECQ presentations and engagement from retention at 0–3 yards.
- Deliver accurate, repeatable hits from multiple non-standard positions and transition between them under time pressure.
- Identify and appropriately engage partially-obscured threats while maintaining decision discipline.
- Clear malfunctions at short range and re-establish reliable engagement immediately if wounded.
- Execute one-hand incapacitation progressions with either hand in live-fire progression.
- Transition a short live-fire engagement to off-line casualty mitigation (tourniquet application) while maintaining sector security.
- Leave with measurable performance benchmarks and a clear, prioritized at-home practice plan to continue to increase performance after class.
