Background:
A graduate of The Citadel, I bring both professional training and real-world experience to the classroom. I serve as a South Carolina State Constable and have worked with international law enforcement agencies both in the field and as a consultant. As a lifelong firearm enthusiast, I’m passionate about teaching firearm safety and competency with an emphasis on responsibility, confidence, and skill development.

Teaching Approach:
I provide instruction that’s beginner-friendly yet challenging and informative for experienced shooters. My teaching methods are tailored to each student’s experience level—whether you’re new to firearms or seeking advanced refinement. Above all, my goal is to make learning safe, structured, and enjoyable.

My courses are designed to teach firearm safety, handling, and South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) requirements in a relaxed, professional environment.

• Concealed Weapons Permit laws and responsibilities

• Legal liability and use-of-force concepts

• Lethal vs. non-lethal defense options

• Situational awareness and real-world decision making

Safety and confidence come first. Whether teaching youth or adults, I emphasize hands-on learning, safety, and good judgment. Students will leave my course prepared not only to carry legally but to do so knowledgeably and responsibly, with a clear understanding of their rights and obligations.

If you haven’t purchased a firearm yet—don’t until after attending the course. We’ll discuss options, configurations, and fit to help you choose the firearm that best suits your needs, comfort, and safety.

• Use of a firearm and ammunition for qualification

• All necessary materials to complete your CWP packet for SLED submission (forms, fingerprints, etc)

• A safe, supportive environment that minimizes intimidation and maximizes learning

By the end of this class, you’ll have:

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Class may be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled due to:

Extreme weather

Unforeseen events

Insufficient enrollment

Students will be notified as soon as possible and given the option of rescheduling or a refund.

Students may cancel up to 7 days prior. Students who cancel will be given financial credit to reschedule the class at another scheduled time. Any cancellation after 7 days will be charged a fee of 75% of the class.

If students cancel a reservation more than 14 days prior to start of class, the course fee, minus a $50 administrative charge, will be refunded.

Refund Policy

By agreeing to these terms, you agree that you have read all the website/class information and agree to the policies and information therein.

Firearms training classes have limited spaces based on range conditions and availability of additional range safety officers.  Once a class is full, additional students are not accepted. If a student cancels or fails to show up, they may have prevented someone else from attending. See cancellation policy.  Please ensure you are equipped and prepared to attend the training BEFORE you sign up. 

No show to the ONLINE or RANGE will constitute a full charge and NO REFUND.  At our discretion we may add you to a future class with availability. 

Other Policy

Safety violations.  A safety brief is given at the beginning of each class. If a student violates the safety policies and procedures, the student may be removed from the class with no refund.

Classroom: Absolutely no ammunition allowed in the classroom

Range: Please read and obey all posted range policies

If you need to cancel a class, we require that you cancel at least seven (7) days before a scheduled class, via email only to bugnv1978@yahoo.com SUBJECT: Course Attendance.  If you have to cancel your class, we will offer you a credit to your account, which will be valid for one (1) year from the date you cancel. If the credit is not used within one (1) year, it will become null and void. If you cancel less than seven (7) days before a scheduled class, you will be given a credit of 25% of the course fee.  If you cancel within 48 hours before a scheduled course or you are a no show to a course, no credit will be offered - No Exceptions.
