Description
Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) Course
Take a vital step as a responsibly armed citizen! Our Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP) course is designed to give you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to responsibly carry and use a firearm for personal protection.
The class begins with safe firearm handling, storage, and the latest South Carolina and Federal firearms laws. We will also cover the laws governing the use of deadly force so that you know not only how to defend yourself and your loved ones, but also how to do so legally and responsibly.
We’ll also explore practical carry methods, positions, and holster options to help you choose what works best for your lifestyle, as well as firearms maintenance to keep your equipment reliable.
Following a brief review, students will take the South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit examination and then proceed to the range for the live fire shooting qualification. Finally, we fill out the forms required for submittal to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, and detailed instructions will be provided to each student for fingerprinting and submittal of CWP applications to SLED.
*NOTE: This is not a course for first-time shooters! Students must be safe firearm handlers and possess a basic level of proficiency. Students without the requisite safe handling skills or shooting proficiency may complete the classroom training and written test, and will be given the opportunity to obtain additional training and then complete the shooting qualification at a later date.
