Description

This class is designed for our beginner to low intermediate shooters who may not be up to the skill level needed for our Pistol Skill Builder classes or our full day weekend classes.

This class will help build skills, techniques and confidence for the beginner, or low intermediate shooter.

This is also a great opportunity for the intermediate or advanced shooter to refresh and practice their foundational skills as well as learn something new.

PREREQUISETS:

All students must have a valid current New York State issued pistol permit, understand and be able to successfully maintain all shooting safety fundamentals. Working to and from and shooting from a holster a plus, but not mandatory.

The class curriculum contains:

– Basic pistol safety fundamentals.

– Range safety, orientation and proper range protocol.

– Shooting fundamentals.

– Concealed carry responsibilities and obligations.

– Drawing from concealment

– Dry fire / live fire drills.

– Malfunctions and stoppages.

– Reloading techniques.

– Strong hand and weak hand shooting.

– Accuracy and efficiency development drills.

EQUIPMENT LISTS:

All students must bring:

– Semi-automatic pistol or revolver of their choice.

– Minimum of 250 rounds of ammunition.

– Quality eye and ear protection.

– Three magazines minimum with magazine carriers/pouch, etc.

– Sturdy belt and kydex holster. Please no flimsy, dangling or cloth/nylon holsters. Kydex preferred.

PLEASE NO Blackhawk Serpa or Uncle Mike’s holsters. No Shoulder, Ankle or small of the back holsters. Strong side or appendix carry only. We recommend: Raven Concealment, Blackpoint Tactical, Dark Star Gear, C&G Holsters, 508 Holsters, and Black Center Tactical.

– Pen and notepad for taking notes.

– An open mind, humble, willing to learn attitude!
