Description

Practical, not Tactical. We won't be learning to clear buildings or to work as part of a fire team. This course is about the foundational skills that are likely to be needed in a self-defense situation. It may not be as much fun as "Tacti-cool" training, but definitely more useful for most of us normal folks :-)

Can you shoot your handgun accurately? Can you shoot fast? Can you shoot fast accurately? That’s the real question. I see a lot of shooters at the range that can drill the 10 ring all day long, but they take their time on every shot. And, I see loads of people doing mag dumps at blinding speed but they’re all over the place.

Defensive shooting by definition requires you to act fast and shoot fast. But if you’re not proficient, you’re going to miss – especially under the pressure of a life threatening situation. YOU CAN’T MISS FAST ENOUGH TO WIN A GUNFIGHT!

In this workshop, we’ll balance our time between training for accuracy and training for speed. Which is what you should be doing every practice session. We all want to shoot impressively tight groups and admire our targets, but if you’re shooting super tight groups all the time, you’re just not shooting fast enough.

Even if you’re still trying to crack the code on placing your shots where you want them, adding drills to help increase speed (as well as accuracy) might be just what your practice is missing.

We’ll start with a timed exercise to establish your baseline and then will go into focused practices, including:

• Precision shooting from a bench rest
• Close range target engagement
• Mid-range target engagement
• Engaging multiple targets
• Reloads and malfunction drills
• Shooting on the move

Join us and have some fun while dialing in your shooting skills. The class is set up to fire 300 rounds but adjustments can be made if you’d like to keep the round count down.
