Description

This course is at least 10 hours long and includes classroom and range time to learn the fundamentals of shotgun's and how they work. We will go over the different types, makes and models as well as the uses for each. Care and maintenance will be covered as well. You will also get introduced to different clay shooting sports and learn how to break moving targets. This course is good for ages 12 and up.

Expectations and Outcomes

Students are required to successfully complete a Basics of Shotgun Shooting examination in order to receive a course completion certificate. And break 13 out of 25 targets

Documentation Requirements

Please provide information on what type of shotgun you will be bringing to class or if you don't have a shot gun we maybe able to provide the student with one if we know ahead of time,for an extra cost. contact us for details.

Requirements

Please leave your firearm unloaded, cased, and secured in your vehicle.  Leave all ammunition in your vehicle or in specified areas until instructed otherwise. You will need about 100 rounds of factory standard target ammunition either 7 1/2 or 8 shot for the shotgun that you bring to class.  NO RELOADS! If you need further clarification, please contact the instructor. 

Eye protection and hearing protection are required. Electronic hearing protection is preferred but any protection that provides proper coverage can be used. 

Long pants, closed shoes and properly fitting shirts should be worn. A brimmed hat is preferred if needed but not required. Dress appropriately for the weather.

Please bring your own drinks and snacks for the day.
