About Prep and Make Ready

My passion is to help and teach people. My degree and career are in instructional design which is developing education based on how adults learn. At a young age I started learning about self-defense and firearms. A few years ago, my passion and hobby came together when I joined The Well Armed Woman Shooting Chapters.

My involvement in TWAW Shooting Chapters is what propelled me to seek out more training and then become a firearms instructor. I now lead 2 TWAW Shooting Chapters and have multiple instructor certifications.

I also started a business with my husband to help individuals and families become better prepared for emergency situations.

Cancellation Policy

Classes are scheduled and fees are collected as students enroll.  Planning is a big part of a class and the instructor comes prepared to meet the needs of the students.  Sometimes extra instructors are brought to the range to support training. Therefore, when someone doesn't come to a class, it changes the dynamics and structure.  For this reason, the following policy is in place.

In order to receive a refund, minus a $25 cancellation fee, the notice must be provided, in writing, to 72 hours prior to the start of the class.
If notice is given, in writing, 24-71 hours prior to the start of the class, 1/2 the fees of the class + $5 will be retained by the instructor.

No cancellation refund will be given if notice is received 23 hours or less before the start of the class. All fees are retained by the instructor.

Reschedule Policy

Given the cancellation policy, the reschedule policy will allow an option if you cannot attend a class.
A $20 reschedule fee will allow a student to reschedule for a class in the future. A reschedule for a class will be allowed one time. Rescheduling will be allowed for a seat in a future class; the next date may/may not be the class that will accommodate the change. All communication regarding rescheduling should be sent to

Refund Policy

Based on the cancellation policy, refunds will be made payable to the individual who scheduled the class, only.  Payment will be sent within five days following the date of the class. If, the seat in the class is filled, a full refund, minus the $25 fee will be made, regardless of the time frame of notice. waiver icon video icon
