Description
Complete your Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) training with Secrecy Executive Training Academy.
This course is designed for individuals seeking the required firearms safety training to apply for a Maryland Handgun Qualification License.
Students receive professional instruction covering firearm safety, Maryland firearms laws, handgun operation, safe handling and storage, and handgun fundamentals. The course also includes the required practical firearm component for applicable students.
Upon successful completion, students will receive the applicable training documentation needed to move forward with their Maryland HQL application.

Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive the applicable training documentation required to move forward with their Maryland Handgun Qualification License application.
Students will leave the course with a better understanding of basic firearm safety, handgun operation, safe firearm handling and storage, Maryland firearm laws, and responsible firearm ownership.
Completion of this course does not guarantee issuance of a Maryland Handgun Qualification License. Final eligibility and licensing decisions are made by the Maryland State Police.

Documentation Requirements
Students must bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
Students are responsible for completing all Maryland State Police application requirements associated with obtaining the Handgun Qualification License, including fingerprinting and applicable state fees.
Students who may qualify for an exemption from the HQL training requirement should verify their eligibility with the Maryland State Police before registering for training.
Maryland State Police application, fingerprinting, and licensing fees are separate from course tuition.
Requirements
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• Students must attend and successfully complete all required portions of the course
• Students must demonstrate safe firearm handling during the practical portion of training
• Students must follow all instructor and range safety requirements
A personal handgun is not required unless specifically stated in the individual class listing.
Any required firearm, ammunition, or range information will be provided to students prior to class.
