IMPORTANT: The $75 fee shown is the 50% deposit required to register and secure your seat. Total course tuition is $150. The remaining $75 balance is due prior to or on the day of training.

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course is an excellent starting point for new firearm owners, first-time shooters, and anyone looking to build a strong foundation in handgun safety and marksmanship.
This course is taught by an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor and combines professional classroom instruction with hands-on firearm training and live-fire range instruction.
Students will learn firearm safety, handgun operation, ammunition fundamentals, proper grip and shooting fundamentals, firearm storage, cleaning and maintenance, range safety, and basic marksmanship.
Students will also complete live-fire training and the applicable NRA shooting qualification.
Upon successful completion, students will receive an official NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course completion certificate.
BONUS: Eligible Maryland students will also receive the applicable Maryland HQL training and certification at NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an official NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course completion certificate.
Students will demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skills in firearm safety, handgun operation, ammunition, safe firearm handling, shooting fundamentals, firearm maintenance, range safety, and basic marksmanship.
Eligible Maryland students who successfully complete the applicable requirements will also receive the necessary HQL training certification to move forward with their Maryland Handgun Qualification License application.
Completion of the course does not guarantee issuance of a Maryland HQL. Final licensing eligibility and approval are determined by the Maryland State Police.

Documentation Requirements
Students must bring a valid government-issued photo ID.
Students seeking Maryland HQL certification must meet all applicable Maryland State Police eligibility and application requirements.
Maryland HQL application, fingerprinting, and licensing fees are separate from course tuition.
Students who are exempt from Maryland HQL training requirements may still participate in the complete NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting Course.
Requirements
• Valid government-issued photo ID
• 50 rounds of factory ammunition
• Personal handgun in safe working condition, if available
• Eye and ear protection
• Closed-toe shoes and appropriate range attire
Students who do not own a handgun should contact Secrecy Executive Training Academy prior to class regarding firearm rental options.
No prior shooting experience is required. This course is beginner friendly.
Students must follow all instructor and range safety rules at all times.
Range fees, ammunition, and firearm rental are not included in course tuition unless specifically stated in the individual class listing.
