About Sentry Concepts
Chase Coughlin is the owner and lead instructor of Sentry Concepts, providing practical firearms, personal protection, and scenario-based training in Michigan.
Chase brings over 10 years of law enforcement experience, including service as an SRT team operator, member of an FBI Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force, firearms instructor, defensive tactics and use-of-force instructor, senior field training officer, and medical first responder. His background includes patrol operations, high-risk incidents, emergency response, firearms training, and real-world decision making under stress.
Through Sentry Concepts, Chase focuses on helping responsible gun owners build more than basic shooting skills. Courses emphasize safe gun handling, defensive shooting fundamentals, situational awareness, legal considerations, de-escalation, decision making, and practical application.
Chase has trained more than 2,000 students and also serves as a Realtor safety instructor, author, and developer of safety and personal protection programs.
Whether you are a first-time gun owner, pursuing your Michigan CPL, or looking to advance your defensive skills, the goal is simple: provide professional, practical training that helps you become safer, more capable, and better prepared.
