Description
Where Tier I is an introduction to the defense mindset utilizing appropriate dry and live fire exercises, Tier II is the heart, the core of defensive pistol. It delves into actual defense situations and issues, utilizing proven techniques for both indoor and outdoor threats.
The course looks at choices for the armed person; escape and evade, engagement, and clearing. This is the “PRACTICALs” class to try, test how each student does utilizing their preferred techniques… an opportunity to refine, re-think if necessary, shooting techniques for each student. Not a prior SMD Student?
It is NOT a requirement to have taken Tier I. This course allows you to practice techniques you do and is an opportunity to adjust, tweak, or learn new techniques for defensive shooting.

- Situational Response (IMMEDIATE Reaction / technique and timed).
- Positional Response (Door & Edge Clearing... Preview to Room Clearing Basics Tier III).
- Introduction to Alternative Force (Non-Lethal force during a lethal force situation).
- Shoot - Move - Shoot.
- Shooting On The Move.
- Multiple threats.
- Tactical reloads.
Expectations and Outcomes
A certificate will be issued to each student
- who satisfactorally completes the drills.
- Demonstrates safe gun handling skills.
- Demonstrates effective knowledge and handling of their preferred handgun and carry method.

Requirements
- Handgun.
- Pereferred carry holster.
- Two hundred and fifty (250) rounds of ammunition.
- Eye (Rx glasses are acceptable) and hearing protection. We can supply either if necessary.
- Bring lunch or order through our lunch order (Jersey Mike's).
- Foul weather gear (just in case).
