Led by Amy Lucas, USCCA Training Counselor and former law enforcement professional, Steel & Stilettos Firearm Training delivers supportive, practical, and real-world firearms training for all experience levels.
Whether you are brand new to firearms or looking to sharpen your defensive skills, you will receive patient instruction, practical guidance, and confidence-building training in a safe and encouraging environment. My classes are open to all..women and men. There are some ladies only classes.

About Steel and Stilettos Firearm Training LLC
Amy Lucas is a USCCA Training Counselor, Certified Firearms Instructor, and Official Partner with the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA). She is the founder and owner of Steel & Stilettos Firearm Training, where she is committed to equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to protect themselves and their loved ones.
Amy served 20 years in law enforcement and was a Firearms Instructor for the State of Michigan. During her career, she held key leadership roles including Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Leader, and Investigator with the Absconder Recovery Unit. She has trained beginners through advanced shooters in the safe and effective use of handguns, rifles, and shotguns.
As a USCCA Certified Training Counselor, Amy trains and certifies new firearms instructors, helping grow the next generation of responsible trainers. She is also certified in USCCA Women’s Handgun Fundamentals and non-lethal defense training and is a Stop the Bleed® instructor, equipping students with life-saving emergency response skills.
Amy teaches Basic Handgun Fundamentals, Concealed Carry & Home Defense (CPL), Defensive Shooting Fundamentals, Concealed Carry Tactics, and USCCA Certified Instructor Courses. She also offers a progressive three-part concealed carry skills series, Open Steel Carry training, and situational awareness programs including Aware & Prepared and her Real Estate Safety Awareness program. Non-lethal self-defense training options are also being introduced.
Amy has organized and led National and Local Women’s Range Days and continues to host these events to empower women through education, confidence, and community.
Training is offered at multiple locations throughout Southeast Michigan, and Amy is available to bring instruction directly to private groups, workplaces, and organizations.
When she is not teaching, Amy serves as an armed school officer, provides executive protection services for high-profile clients in Southeast Michigan, and works as a private contractor with the U.S. Marshals Service, maintaining federal clearance.
Amy’s mission is rooted in education, responsibility, and empowerment. She believes safety begins with awareness, preparation, and the confidence to act when it matters most.

Amy Lucas brings a broad range of certifications and specialized training that allow her to teach students of all skill levels with confidence and professionalism. She is a USCCA Certified Firearms Instructor, qualified to train beginners through experienced shooters, and a USCCA Certified Training Counselor, which authorizes her to train and certify new instructors. Amy is also certified in the USCCA Women’s Handgun Fundamentals and non-lethal defense programs, expanding her ability to offer layered safety solutions. In addition, she is a Stop the Bleeds® instructor, equipping students with life-saving emergency medical skills. Drawing from her law enforcement background and advanced training in self-defense, firearms, and medical response, Amy has developed specialized programs including Real Estate Safety Awareness and Aware & Prepared, designed to help professionals and civilians recognize threats, reduce risk, and respond effectively in critical situations.
