The Core-Skills Building, Action Oriented course guides you through exercises that develop the physical and mental shooting skills necessary to safely and efficiently handle a firearm. The exercises and instruction in this course are adapted to everyone’s needs and abilities.
We will review the basic safety and firearm handling skills. Acquiring the firearm will be done both from the table and/or from a holster or off body carry. It covers both home defensive and conceal carry situations – tailored to each participant’s situation.
This course will include complex actions such as clearing malfunctions, reloading and shooting on the move, and shooting a moving target -- beneficial to self-defense situations one may could encounter.
Topics Covered
A distinctive feature of this course is the discharge of a firearm can be a difficult, anxiety producing experience. We will go through a desensitization drill to mitigate mental anxiety, loud noise firearm discharge, concussion and recoil.
Mental preparation to act under pressure and remain focused.
Review of the legal aspects of self-defense as provided by law enforcement officials.
Expectations and Outcomes
Course takes the student through the entire firearm manipulation process in dry fire mode (no ammo) to become familiar with and comfortable in all stages of handling a firearm and then in live fire (with ammo). Students will acquire proficiency and confidence in handling their firearm safely and accurately and execute complex actions such as clearing malfunctions, reloading and shooting on the move, and shooting a moving target -- beneficial to self-defense situations one may could encounter.
