Basic Pistol & Texas LTC combo class

Description

In today’s world, it’s more important than ever to be prepared to protect yourself and your loved ones. This course combines hands-on Basic Pistol shooting instruction with the full Texas License to Carry curriculum. You’ll gain practical range experience, learn firearm safety and fundamentals, and understand Texas laws for carrying and self-defense. Build the skills and confidence you need to carry responsibly and be ready when it matters most.

Documentation Requirements

Join our experienced instructors at Austin Rifle Club for a full-day training event. The morning session will cover Hands-On Pistol training and the Shooting Qualification. In the afternoon, the LTC curriculum, including Texas laws and regulations, safe handling and storage, non-violent dispute resolution, and use of force. You'll learn about the importance of reciprocity, federal gun-free school zones, and the benefits of obtaining an LTC.

Hands-On Pistol Training

This is where you'll learn fundamental shooting skills, including proper stance, grip, and trigger control. Our instructors will guide you through a series of drills and exercises designed to improve your accuracy and confidence with a pistol.

Range Qualification Test

To complete the LTC requirements, you'll participate in a range qualification test, firing 50 rounds from various distances (3, 7, and 15 yards) on a B-27 target. You'll need to score at least 70% (175 points out of 250) to pass.

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

• Cost: $225 per person (includes LTC class, range qualification test, and pistol training)
• Prerequisites: None, but prior pistol experience is recommended
• Items needed - Pistol & 150-200 rounds of ammo
