Course Focus: Advanced Close-Quarters Defensive Tactics
This high-level 4-hour indoor course is the most physically and technically demanding defensive tactics session in your curriculum, designed for students who have mastered the fundamentals of DT 1 and DT 2. The training focuses on advanced strategies for extreme close-quarters combat, weapon defense, and maintaining control when an attacker is at contact distance.
What You Will Master:
- Advanced Weapon Retention & Counter-Disarm Techniques: Master complex physical techniques to foil an aggressor's attempt to take your firearm and practice fighting to retain possession.
- Close-Quarters Defensive Strikes & Escapes: Learn powerful defensive strikes, body mechanics, and escapes specifically designed for immediate use when grappling or pinned in a confined space.
- Engaging & Controlling an Attacker While Armed: Practice techniques for utilizing your firearm defensively while simultaneously managing or controlling the physical threat of an attacker.
- Scenario-Based Training for Realistic Encounters: High-intensity, reality-based scenarios test your integrated skills against dynamic, resisting opponents.
- Tactical Movement & Environmental Awareness: Focus on micro-movement and utilizing environmental factors to your advantage in tight spaces.

Requirements
📝 Important Course Notes
- Prerequisite: Completion of Defensive Tactics 1 and 2 (or verifiable advanced skill in weapon retention and close-quarters defense) is mandatory.
- Training Environment: This is an intensive 4-hour indoor training session involving dynamic, physical contact. It is strictly NON-LIVE FIRE. NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS PERMITTED in the training area.
- Required Firearm: Students are required to bring their everyday carry handgun and all magazines to the class. ALL AMMUNITION MUST BE LEFT SECURED IN YOUR VEHICLE.
- Training Pistol: The course will utilize Inert Training Firearms (SIRT or blue guns) provided by the instructor for all drills.
- Required Equipment:
- Students must bring their personal concealed carry setup (holster and carry method used daily) and any magazine pouches.
- NO SERPA-style holsters will be permitted due to safety concerns.
- Mouthguards and protective cups are strongly recommended for scenario training.
- Physical Activity: This course involves dynamic, high-intensity physical contact. Please wear comfortable, durable clothing.
- Safety Policy: All students must arrive with an unloaded and cleared firearm which will be immediately inspected by the instructor.
- Course Cost: The course fee is $260 total.
