Course Focus: Defensive Tactics from a Seated Position (Restaurant & Public Spaces)
 
This intensive 6-hour indoor scenario-based course is the most advanced defensive training in your curriculum, designed to prepare you for threats in complex, everyday environments where movement is restricted, such as restaurants, theaters, or crowded public spaces. This training uses the stress of Simunitions to test your decision-making, drawing mechanics, and tactical movement under duress.
 
What You Will Master:
 
  • Drawing & Engaging Threats from a Seated Position: Refine your concealed draw stroke for optimal safety and speed while confined to a seat.
 
  • Weapon Retention & Defensive Maneuvers in Close Quarters: Practice physical techniques to retain your firearm and create space in extremely close proximity to a threat.
 
  • Protecting Others & Tactical Movement in Crowded Spaces: Learn principles for shielding companions (e.g., family) and navigating obstacles while managing a threat.
 
  • SIRT Training for Precision & Mechanics: Utilize SIRT pistols for high-repetition practice of the draw stroke and point shooting mechanics.
 
  • Simunitions-Based Scenario Drills for Realistic Application: Engage in force-on-force scenarios where role-players create realistic threats, forcing you to make rapid, defensible tactical choices.

📝 Important Course Notes
 
  • Prerequisite: Due to the complexity of the scenarios, completion of Handgun 13 and Defensive Tactics 2 (or equivalent verifiable skill) is mandatory.
 
  • Training Environment: This is an intensive 6-hour indoor training session focused on scenario-based drills using inert training devices. NO LIVE AMMUNITION IS PERMITTED in the training area.
 
  • Required Holster: A Concealed Holster is Required. NO OWB Holsters are permitted, as this course focuses exclusively on techniques for concealed carry in public.
 
  • Required Equipment:
  • Students must bring their personal concealed carry setup (holster and carry method used daily) and any magazine pouches.
 
  • NO SERPA-style holsters will be permitted due to safety concerns during retention drills.
 
  • Training Pistol: The course will utilize SIRT pistols and Simunition-capable firearms (provided by the instructor) for all drills.
 
  • Safety Policy: Students must arrive with an unloaded and cleared firearm which, along with all live ammunition, MUST be left secured in your vehicle.
 
  • Course Cost: The course fee is $410 total.
