Course Focus: Mastering Weapon-Mounted & Handheld Light Techniques

This intensive 6-hour comprehensive course is designed to prepare students for the reality of defensive scenarios, over 50% of which occur in low-light conditions. The course is split between indoor non-live fire tactics training and live-fire range application, ensuring mastery of light discipline, identification, and engagement in reduced visibility.

What You Will Master:

📌 Indoor Training (3 Hours – Non-Live Fire)

  • Techniques for Handheld & Weapon-Mounted Lights: Learn various flashlight techniques (e.g., Harries, Chapman) and proper operation of weapon-mounted lights (WML).

  • Light Discipline & Target Identification: Understand how to use light without giving away your position and accurately distinguish between a threat and a non-threat in the dark.

  • Manipulating Firearms While Using a Light: Practice reloading, clearing malfunctions, and transitioning with the added complexity of a light source.

  • Room Clearing & Low-Light Tactics: Introduction to basic search and clear principles in a low-light environment.

📌 Range Training (3 Hours – Live Fire)

  • Shooting with Integrated Light: Engage targets using both a handheld flashlight (various techniques) and a weapon-mounted light.

  • Low-Light Live Fire Drills: Challenging drills focusing on accurate target engagement and speed in reduced visibility.
