Course Focus: Defensive Tactics from a Seated Position (Restaurant & Public Spaces)
This comprehensive 6-hour course is the definitive training for fighting back from a disadvantaged position. It combines 3 hours of indoor non-live fire tactics with 3 hours of challenging live-fire range drills to ensure you can retain your weapon, maneuver, and accurately engage threats when the fight unexpectedly goes to the ground.
What You Will Master:
📌 Indoor Training (3 Hours – Non-Live Fire)
- Defensive Tactics fro
m the Ground: Learn techniques for creating space, escaping mounts, and navigating when pinned.
- Weapon Retention & Drawing Under Pressure: Practice defending your firearm and successfully executing a draw stroke while fighting on your back or side.
- Shooting Positions & Mobility While Down: Understand the safest and most stable positions for shooting from the ground.
- Scenario Training: Utilize SIRT and Simunitions to test your ground tactics and decision-making against role-players in force-on-force scenarios.
📌 Range Training (3 Hours – Live Fire)
- Live-Fire Drills from Seated, Prone & Supine Positions: Engage threats accurately from various ground positions.
- Engaging Threats While Moving from the Ground: Practice firing while actively recovering or transitioning to cover.
- Reloads & Malfunction Drills Under Duress: Execute critical firearm manipulations with one hand while managing your stability on the ground.
- Tactical Recovery to Standing Position: Learn safe and fast techniques to get back on your feet and continue the fight.

Requirements
📝 Important Course Notes
- Prerequisite: Completion of previous Handgun Levels and Defensive Tactics courses (specifically DT 1 and DT 2) is mandatory due to the extreme physical and technical demands.
- Training Environment: This is a 6-hour course split between an indoor facility (non-live fire, dynamic movement) and the range (live fire).
- Physical Demand: This course is physically demanding and requires students to move, fall, roll, and transition between positions on the ground repeatedly.
- Required Firearm: All students must bring and use their own personal, operational handgun.
- Ammunition Requirement: All students must bring 300 rounds of FMJ 9mm ammunition.
- Required Equipment:
- Students must bring a durable Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) Holster (OWB is mandatory for safety during dynamic drills) and at least two operational magazines with a dedicated magazine pouch.
- Knee pads, elbow pads, and durable clothing (long sleeves and pants) are MANDATORY for safety during ground work.
- Safety Policy: For the indoor
portion, all live ammunition and personal firearms MUST be left secured in your vehicle. Only inert training tools will be used indoors.
