Course Focus: Vehicle Cover & Defensive Shooting (Live-Fire Application)
This intensive 4-hour live-fire range course is the critical live-fire practical session for vehicle defense. You will learn and practice dynamic shooting techniques, positional changes, and movement principles, all focused on safely and effectively utilizing a vehicle for cover while engaging threats in a realistic environment. This course integrates essential Blood Control (BCON) principles, preparing you for immediate medical response during a high-risk encounter.
What You Will Master:
- Shooting from Inside & Around a Vehicle: Practice drawing and firing from seated positions and various points of cover around the car (pillars, engine block).
- Using a Vehicle as Cover vs. Concealment: Understand the tactical difference between cover and concealment and which vehicle components offer genuine protection from incoming fire.
- Engaging Threats from Various Angles & Positions: Execute shots while maneuvering and using the vehicle to limit exposure, addressing threats from 90° and 180° angles.
- Defensive Movement & Cover Utilization: Drills focused on quickly moving to and establishing a stable firing position behind vehicle components.
- BCON – Blood Control & Trauma Response in a Gunfight: Integrate the mental checklist for immediate self-aid or buddy aid during a high-stress scenario, applying BCON principles to your defensive routine.

Requirements
📝 Important Course Notes
- Prerequisite: Completion of Handgun Level 16 (Vehicle Defense & Engagement Tactics) or verifiable equivalent skill is mandatory due to the high-risk, dynamic nature of the drills.
- Training Environment: This is an intensive 4-hour live-fire range training session involving dynamic movement in and around vehicles.
- Required Firearm: All students must bring and use their own personal, operational handgun.
- Ammunition Requirement: All students must bring 300 rounds of FMJ 9mm ammunition.
- Required Equipment:
- A durable Concealed or Outside-the-Waistband (OWB) Holster (OWB is preferred for safety in dynamic drills) and at least two operational magazines with a dedicated magazine pouch.
- NO SERPA-style holsters will be permitted.
- Knee pads and elbow pads are highly recommended for comfort during positional shooting drills.
- Safety Gear: Proper range attire, eye protection, and ear protection are mandatory.
- Course Cost: The course fee is $260 total.
