Whether you're applying for your first Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) or looking to become a more knowledgeable and responsible armed citizen, US Firearms Training Academy offers comprehensive concealed carry training designed to prepare you for carrying a firearm safely and legally.
Our Colorado Concealed Carry Class goes beyond the minimum state requirements by combining classroom instruction with practical live-fire range training. Students receive instruction on firearm safety, Colorado self-defense laws, use of force, concealed carry best practices, situational awareness, conflict avoidance, handgun fundamentals, and responsible firearm ownership.
Training is provided by experienced firearms instructors in a professional and supportive learning environment designed for both new and experienced shooters. Students who successfully complete the course receive a Certificate of Completion that may be used when applying for a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), subject to all applicable state and local requirements.

This course is designed for anyone seeking a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) or wanting professional concealed carry training and firearm safety education.
Is this course approved for a Colorado CHP application?
Yes. Students who successfully complete the course receive documentation that may be used when applying for a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit, subject to all applicable state and local requirements.
Is live-fire included?
Yes. This course includes supervised live-fire instruction and qualification.
Do I need previous firearm experience?
No. This course is appropriate for beginners as well as experienced shooters.
Can I rent a handgun?
Yes. Students may rent either a Taurus .22 LR pistol or a Glock 9mm pistol. Rentals include 150 rounds of ammunition. Please reserve your rental firearm when registering.

Yes. We offer concealed carry classes serving students throughout Colorado, including Denver, Thornton, Aurora, Lakewood, Westminster, Arvada, Littleton, Parker, Castle Rock, Centennial, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Greeley, and surrounding communities.
How long is my training certificate valid?
Colorado training certificates are generally valid for one year from the date of completion.

Documentation Requirements
- Valid Government Issued ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Note-taking materials recommended
- No permit required to attend

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age to apply for a Colorado CHP.
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Follow all instructor directions and range safety rules.
- Successfully complete the classroom instruction.
- Successfully complete the written examination and live-fire qualification.
- No prior experience required (beginner-friendly)
- For live fire portion (rental with ammo available on checkout):
- Handgun (semi-auto or revolver)
- Minimum 50 to 100 rounds of ammunition
- At least one magazine
- Firearm must be unloaded and secured in a case
- Eye and ear protection (rental & purchase available)
