Is this course approved for a Colorado CHP application?
Yes. Students who successfully complete the course receive documentation that may be used when applying for a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit, subject to all applicable Colorado laws and local sheriff requirements.
Is live-fire training included?
Yes. Students receive supervised live-fire instruction and complete the required qualification during the course.
Do I need previous firearm experience?
No. This class is designed for both first-time handgun owners and experienced shooters looking to improve their knowledge and skills.
Can I rent a handgun?
Yes. Students may rent either a Taurus .22 LR pistol or a Glock 9mm pistol. Rentals include 150 rounds of ammunition, making it easy for students who do not yet own a firearm to complete the course.

How long is my training certificate valid?
Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit training certificates are generally valid for one year from the date of successful course completion.
What should I bring to class?
Bring a government-issued photo ID, your unloaded handgun (if you own one), eye and hearing protection, at least 50 rounds of factory ammunition, and any other equipment listed in your registration confirmation.
Is this class appropriate for beginners?
Absolutely. Our instructors specialize in helping new shooters develop safe firearm handling skills while also providing valuable instruction for experienced gun owners.

Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age to apply for a Colorado CHP.
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID.
- Follow all instructor directions and range safety rules.
- Successfully complete the classroom instruction.
- Successfully complete the written examination and live-fire qualification.
- No prior experience required (beginner-friendly)
- For live fire portion (rental with ammo available on checkout):
- Handgun (semi-auto or revolver)
- Minimum 50 to 100 rounds of ammunition
- At least one magazine
- Firearm must be unloaded and secured in a case
- Eye and ear protection (rental & purchase available)
