Description
Florida Concealed Carry License Class - Beyond the Minimum
This course satisfies all Florida statutory requirements to apply for a Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License while providing significantly more practical instruction than the minimum required by law.
In addition to the required legal instruction, safe firearm handling, storage, and live-fire qualification, this class emphasizes the judgment and decision-making skills that help responsible armed citizens avoid violent encounters whenever possible.
Students will learn:
- Florida laws governing the lawful use of force and deadly force
- The legal, moral, and practical responsibilities of carrying a firearm
- Situational awareness and threat recognition
- Common pre-assault indicators and criminal behavior patterns
- How to recognize developing danger before it becomes a deadly force encounter
- Strategies for avoidance, de-escalation, and creating distance
- Defensive mindset based on sound judgment rather than slogans
- What happens before, during, and after a defensive use of force
- Safe firearm handling and live-fire qualification required for Florida licensing
Whether you are new to concealed carry or seeking a deeper understanding of defensive decision-making, this course is designed to prepare you not only to obtain your Florida license, but to carry responsibly and confidently in everyday life.
Instruction is provided by Seth G. Cohen, attorney, NRA and USCCA Certified Instructor, NRA Chief Range Safety Officer, certified firearms appraiser, and professional firearms educator. The class combines legal knowledge with practical defensive training to give students a well-rounded understanding of responsible armed self-defense.

Expectations and Outcomes
The student will receive a certificate that will prove compliance with the education requirements to apply for a FL CWFL.

Documentation Requirements
Email proof of citizenship or green card and your driver's license.
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
Requirements
I have a firearm, hearing and eye protection for you, but if you have your own safety equipment/firearm, bring it along with at least 25 rounds of suitable range-type ammunition. PLEASE ENSURE THAT IT IS UNLOADED AND CASED PRIOR TO ARRIVING.
