Description

Mass shootings have become a pervasive problem in our society, causing significant loss of life, physical and emotional harm, and trauma. This course is designed to explore the underlying factors that contribute to mass shootings and provide practical strategies to prevent them.

Throughout the class, we will discuss the psychological, social, and environmental factors that lead to mass shootings. We will examine the warning signs and behaviors that may indicate a person is at risk of committing a mass shooting and explore the role of mental illness, gun laws, and access to firearms.

In addition, we will focus on prevention strategies that have been successful in preventing mass shootings in other countries and communities. These strategies include early intervention programs, community-based mental health services, and firearm safety education.

By the end of this class, you will have a better understanding of the complex issues surrounding mass shootings and be equipped with practical tools to prevent them. Together, we can work towards creating safer communities and preventing future tragedies.
