Description

This training course is taught by a retire STPD Tactical Team Leader (SWAT) and is for experienced rifle shooters who want to be certified to teach the NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Course. The course is as followes;

This 16-hour course, plus shooting a course of fire (third day) teaches the knowledge, skills and attitude essential to organizing, promoting and teaching NRA’s Basic Rifle Shooting course.

More Details:

Prerequisite: Possession of basic firearm safety and shooting skills is a perquisite for certification as an NRA instructor. Prior to the instructor training, candidates complete a pre-course questionnaire and demonstrate their firearm background in pre-course assessment exercises.

Description: Course is presented in three parts: Basic Instructor Training (BIT), Basic Rifle Shooting Training, rifle specific instructor training and passing the rifle course of fire shooting requirement. Students demonstrate organizational and teaching skills via participation in practical exercises during the course, and complete an instructor certification examination. Students will receive the NRA Trainer’s Guide, NRA Rifle Shooting Instructor Candidate Packet and NRA Basic Rifle Shooting course student packet.

Expectations and Outcomes

Upon completion of the thee day course there will be a written test and shooting qualification. Once you have passed the above, your information will be sent to the NRA where you will be certified as an NRA Basic Rifle Shooting Instructor.

The NRA does require you to be a member of the NRA for certification.
