The Metropolitan Police Department is the agency responsible for registering firearms in the District of Columbia. By being familiar with the law and the process, you will be able to quickly and easily register your weapon and ensure that you are in compliance with the District’s laws regarding proper registration and safekeeping of your weapon. If you wish to register a firearm or apply for a License to Carry a handgun, both must be done through an appointment (scheduling link below).

Maryland Wear And Carry
As of October 1, 2013, all new, renewal, and subsequent applicants must successfully complete required firearms training, within 2 years, prior to submitting the application.
As of October 1, 2016 Fingerprints will no longer be required for renewal application submissions. Fingerprints are still required for all initial/origin?al Handgun Permit applications. (MD SB208 2016)
As of October 1, 2019, all Wear and Carry permit applications (original, renewal and subsequent) and requests (modification and replacement) must be submitted online in the Licensing Portal. All documentation requirements and any clarifications you feel may assist investigators in processing your applications must be uploaded and electronically attached to the application in the Licensing Portal. Reschedule Policy
Archangel will reschedule students for range certification at no cost to the student give Archangel a 24-hour notice. If the students is a no call no show the student will be charge an additional $40 to reschedule the range certification.
Students who do not completed their range certification within 30 days of classroom training must pay and retake the classroom training again before being reschedule for range certification.
Refund Policy
Please note, we do not offer refunds. However, if you give us at least 48-hour notice of your need to cancel your classroom training, we will credit your payment toward another Class. However, if you do not cancel with at least 48 notices, you will lose any payments you have already made.
Range Schedule Policy:
Any cancellation or reschedule made less than 24 hours will result in a cancellation fee. The amount of the fee will be equal to 100 percent of the range fee $40.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for your range time, we may not be able to accommodate you. In this case, the same cancellation fee will apply. We will do our very best to reschedule your range time for another time that is convenient to you.
In the event of a true, unavoidable emergency, all or part of your cancellation fee may be applied to future range fee.
