Description

Mastering the Handgun Optic (RDS) course is designed for shooters who have made or are currently transitioning from pistol iron sights to red dot sights. This course is for shooters who do have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of pistol marksmanship, and are looking to transition their sight.

Students will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of using RDS on their pistol; method of carry.

Throughout the training, we will cover a wide range of important subjects, including zeroing your red dot, draw techniques, utilizing the necessary information for accurate shots, and optimizing red dot usage at different distances. You will learn the art of speed and efficiency in draw and presentation, explore dot tracking methods, and discover different modes of practice to enhance your skills.

Grip & Stance considerations

Draw stroke and finding the dot

Tracking the dot (recoil management) and analysis of shooting errors

Reacquiring the dot after reloading

The course is designed to introduce shooters to the use of red dot sights on pistols. We will cover the basics of red dot sights, including how they work, the different types available, and how to properly mount them on your pistol.

In the classroom portion of the course, we will discuss the benefits of using a red dot sight, as well as proper sight alignment and shooting techniques. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and get feedback from the instructor.

By the end of this course, you will have a good understanding of how to use a red dot sight on your pistol and be well on your way to becoming a more proficient shooter.

Equipment Required: Slide mounted red dot equipped handgun

Also available: Actual range time is also available but not required for the additional cost of $75 payable at the beginning of class.
