Home Defense Weapons Training is private in-your-home training for responsible gun owners.

This is not a shooting lesson. It is not live-fire training. No live ammunition is used.

The purpose of this course is to help you think through what you would do if a threat entered your home. Training takes place in your actual home, using your real floor plan, furniture, lighting, hallways, bedrooms, and doorways.

The course includes role play with inert replica pistols and recoil-enabled training pistols. These tools allow you to practice movement, positioning, communication, decision-making, and defensive responses in a safe training environment.

We will discuss safe firearm access, family safety, fatal funnels, low-light concerns, when to hold position, and when movement may create more danger.

This course also covers the aftermath of a defensive encounter. We will discuss calling 911, what to report, what not to say, and how to avoid common mistakes that may create legal problems after the incident.

The goal is not to turn your home into a fantasy tactical course. The goal is to help you build a safer, more realistic, and more responsible home-defense plan before you ever need one.

Expectations and Outcomes

Possible outcomes include improved confidence, better home-defense planning, safer firearm handling, clearer decision-making, better understanding of fatal funnels, improved awareness of family-safety concerns, and a more realistic understanding of what may happen during a home-defense emergency.

This class does not guarantee any specific outcome in a real defensive incident. It is intended to improve preparation, safety, judgment, and responsible decision-making.

Documentation Requirements

Required ID:
Students must bring a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID, or other official photo identification. For permit/certificate classes, the name on the registration should match the name on the student’s ID.

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

CCW Training Academy will supply all equipment required for this training, including recoil-enabled training pistols.

Students do not need to provide a firearm, ammunition, targets, eye protection, or ear protection for this in-home training session.

No live ammunition will be used during this training.
