NRA Defensive Pistol Course

Description

This course is only conducted by NRA certified Advanced Pistol Instructors.

The NRA Defensive Pistol course will focus on the techniques needed to develop a defensive mindset. The goal of the course will be to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry and use a concealed pistol ethically, responsibly and with confidence.

Topics/Learned Skills are:

1. How to apply the NRA Rules for Safe Gun Handling when carrying a concealed firearm;
2. Basic principles of concealment;
3. The difference between cover and concealment;
4. Drawing from the holster;
5. Levels of mental awareness;
6. Developing the proper mindset when using a pistol for personal protection;
7. Clearing common stoppages;
8. Use of pocket pistols;

Students will receive:

1. The NRA Guide to the Basics Of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook
2. NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure
3. NRA Defensive Pistol certificate
4. Certified Firearms Training Course Completion Certificate

Documentation Requirements

This is an Advanced Course.

• You must have completed verifiable firearms training before taking this course

or;

• Current or Former Military. Proof of ID card or DD-214
• Current or Former Law Enforcement. ID card/Badge
• Current Armed Security with Valid Armed Guard Card
• Pre-Course assessment with the instructor 
• Pre-Course Private Lesson with the instructor

The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.

Requirements

REQUIRES:

• Your gun (sorry NO.22s)
• A Holster that covers the entire trigger when holstered. Level I holster minimum. (No Pocket Holsters)
• A minimum of ONE Spare Magazines or TWO Speedloaders. 
• Magazine or Speedloader holster attached to belt.

Students will be required to fill out and sign our WAIVER.
No seats are guaranteed until they are paid for.
