Description

Pistol One is a full day of foundational defensive handgun training designed for shooters from any skill level and have them drawing from a holster and putting rounds on target fast by the end of the class. Whether you're a brand-new gun owner or you've carried for years without formal training, you'll leave safe, confident, and capable with your carry pistol.

This is a range-day class, taught the way skills are actually built: we explain each skill and the reasoning behind it, demonstrate it, then you work it on your own target with coaching on the line. You'll spend the day shooting and getting feedback, and you'll know exactly what the standard is before you leave.

What we cover:

  • Universal safety rules and range commands
  • Stance, grip, trigger control, and sight alignment / sight picture
  • Draw stroke mechanics from concealment or OWB carry
  • Reloads and common stoppage management
  • Structured dry-fire and live-fire drills that build accuracy and consistency under increasing complexity
  • Intro to everyday carry: situational awareness, use of force, retention shooting, and real-world defensive concepts
  • and more

Need your License to Carry? This class can count as the range portion of your Texas LTC. Brad is a Texas DPS-certified LTC instructor, and we close the day by shooting the official LTC qualification course. Complete the classroom portion through a DPS-approved online course (before or after class, Texas allows either order), and we'll sign off your range instruction and proficiency demonstration on the spot. Tell us you want the LTC sign-off when you register so your paperwork is ready.

Who can attend: U.S. citizens 18 and up who are legally allowed to own, purchase, and possess a firearm.

What to bring: Pistol with at least 3 magazines, kydex holster with a range belt, eye and ear protection, at least 500 rounds of ball pistol ammo (available for purchase onsite; no bi-metal, steel-core, or green-tip ammo), note-taking material, water and snacks, and clothing for the weather. Sunscreen and a hat are strongly recommended.

Pricing: The suggested price is $150, and this is a pay what you can class. We believe money should never be the reason someone goes untrained, so if the full price is a stretch right now, email us at training@etstrainingsystems.com and we'll get you a registration code for what works. Nobody gets left standing on the sidelines.

Taught by Jeff Williams and Brad Kelley at Gravestone Precision Shooting, Lipan, TX.
