Description
A carry permit (pistol permit) is required to carry and purchase pistols/revolvers in Connecticut. A hunting license or carry permit will allow you to purchase any long gun in Connecticut without having to endure the state imposed waiting period. In order to get a State Permit to Carry you must first obtain a local permit. A local pistol permit/temporary state permit may be obtained from the police chief in the town in which you reside or maintain a place of business. The first step is the NRA Basic Pistol course.
Topics Covered
How to operate and store a firearm safely. Basic introduction to revolvers and semi automatic pistols parts and functionality, ammunition, cleaning and maintenance, exam and "live fire" range time.
Expectations and Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, both classs and range, students will receive their NRA Basic Pistol Certificate. This is what you will need in order to apply for your state pistol/carry permit

Documentation Requirements
Valid Driver License/ ID, Passport etc Must have these in order to take class and enter range. A "Drive Only" (DO) Licesnse is NOT acceptable
The instructor requires a copy of your Government Issued ID once you register.
The instructor requires a copy of your Concealed Carry Weapons permit once you register.

All materials will be provided, including, Textbook, exam, firearm use and range time, ammo, targets, safety equipment and NRA Certificate (Must pass BOTH exam and Live fire requirements)
