Description

Concerned about your personal safety, but unsure where to begin?? You do not need to carry a firearm to start building practical defensive skills for everyday life. 😊

Situational Awareness & Pepper Spray Use is the first course in our three-part Self-Defense Life Skills Academy. In a welcoming, interactive setting, you’ll learn to pay closer attention to your surroundings, recognize potential warning signs, and think through ways to avoid trouble or create distance. You’ll also explore where pepper spray fits into a personal safety plan and practice its safe, responsible use.

Each student receives a POM pepper spray to take home. You’ll leave with a personal safety tool and a better understanding of when and how to use it responsibly.

This course is designed for people who are new to self-defense as well as experienced firearm owners who want options beyond a firearm. Come with questions. Leave with a clearer plan, greater confidence in your decisions, and practical skills you can continue to develop.

You may take this course on its own or continue through the full Self-Defense Life Skills Academy:

  • Course 1: Situational Awareness & Pepper Spray Use, Tuesday, October 20, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Course 2: Flashlight Use, Impact Tools & Environmental Weapons, Thursday, October 22, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
  • Course 3: American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed®, Friday, October 23, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Students who complete the course and hands on skills receive an ACS certificate of completion.
All three courses meet at The Brigade Shooting Company, 5131 W. 140th St., Brook Park, OH 44142.
