Hi Candy,

Thanks for the A-Team special training opportunity. I really liked the more focused time with the Petticord crew than we normally get at a GNO, and always pick up something new or have something reinforced. (Gotta keep the thumb on the frame.) I especially liked the practice time with the holster toward the end of the training.

A couple weeks ago I had the privilege to take the "Advanced Firearm training with Holster Draw" class at the Parma Armory. Candy, Forrest, and the rest of the crew were wonderful and we had a great evening of learning and shooting.  

Our class was small, and this worked to our advantage as we received a lot of Individual attention as well as lots of range time.  

By the end of the evening, I was no longer intimidated by the prospect of drawing from a holster. I know that I still have a LOT to learn. This is just the beginning on my path to feel comfortable carrying and properly using a firearm.

The instructors were professional throughout the class (We did have fun).  There was plenty of time to fix missteps and much attention was given to procedure and safety.

I highly recommend this class to anyone.

Hi, Candy...thank you again for the holster draw class Monday. Unbelievable...sums it up in a single word! There is so much more to drawing from a holster than I ever thought. You and your "gang" are a delight to learn from and be in class with. The small group atmosphere makes it a very enjoyable class experience.

Thanks for hosting the special A-team training session Friday at Parma Armory.  

The move and shoot session was a great opportunity for me to venture out of the standard shooting range format and try something different. I hope there will be another move and shoot session in 2024.

I attended the Introduction to Defensive Shooting Fundamentals class on Sunday, January 28,2024 at the Parma Armory and was very impressed with the quality of the presentation, the depth of the material and the competence of the supporting staff. 

The course material was presented very well and the range activity was safe and extensive. The LEO (Forrest) was very informative and provided excellent demonstrations.

I was able to get a lot of valuable range time and reinforcement from the staff and their concern for range safety was excellent.

I learned new things and reached a better understanding of the responsibility I have when I carry a weapon.

Candy, thank you for creating a good training session.

I enjoyed yesterday’s class, it made us think and evaluate/reavaluate why you should always be aware of what is going on around you. And not only on the range!

I attended the Basic & Advanced Firearm Skills with Holster Draw. Your family did a great job. You must excuse me I have a terrible memory for names. Your son who conducted the class did an excellent job blending instruction, coaching, stress, and positive feedback skillfully. It was an enjoyable and worthwhile learning experience. Dave, your other son, was very helpful to me as a coach and offering encouragement. I look forward to future classes.

This was my first class with Northpointe Training. The class was Basic and Advanced Skills With Holster Draw, taught by lead instructor Michael Petticord. His assistants were Daniel and Abby Petticord. The instructor team was great. They made the class challenging and provided individual guidance to students allowing each of us to successfully complete ever increasingly complex drills. Abby’s one-on-one guidance was precise and super helpful. All this was accomplished in a positive class atmosphere. It was an educational and fun afternoon. 

Class was intense and tiring, but the amount of hands-on training was phenomenal and well worth it. Ron and Scotty are so knowledgeable and treat us all with great respect. We are very fortunate to have you and your family as trainers, and Parma Armory as a great facility.

Candy! Holy cow! Today was absolutely amazing! I cannot thank you enough for putting up with my shenanigans! Haha! Your RSO class today has given me so much more hope for following my, fairly new, dreams of becoming a firearms instructor! I have already told my wife I will be booking all of my future classes with you! I have been raving on and on about how much fun I had today! You kept the class entertaining and interesting! I am looking forward to working with you again in the future! I will also be telling anyone that has any aspirations to do any kind of training! Thank you again for such an awesome time!

Candy's First Shots women's class was a great primer on firearms safety and anatomy and, specifically, handgun instruction. She and her daughters are knowledgeable and accomplished shooters, and their sense of humor paired with their no-nonsense view of firearm safety really made for an informative class that I would recommend to any novice shooter. I was grateful that a women's-only class was offered - Candy made us ladies feel comfortable, confident, and welcomed to the world of shooting!

ms. candy, you gave us lady folks the knowledge, confidence,  and passion to love learning about some serious topics.  your teaching style, attitude, optimism, personality, and knowledge are a damn value bundle on its own. you set the bar for higher learning in all things firearms, and your devotion to safety is, in my opinion,  unparalleled. your ccw class gave me even more motivation to learn beyond what i thought i might wanna learn. and you make learning fun.

i am proud to have been part of your first all ladies ccw course. it was worth every penny and second spent.

you've given me more desire to continue learning about the whole art of shooting. how amazing!!! and your kids?! equally incredible. equally confidence inducing. equally knowledgeable and helpful. equally cool as h*ll.

I’ve signed up for AGAG membership. I plan to see you this coming Thursday. I want to know what courses to take next.

Honestly, in addition to the CCW, I want to work up to the competitive training. 

Thank you so many times over for leading a fantastic class for us this past week. I’ve had firearms training on my wishlist for a long, long time. I’ve never known how to begin or where and, honestly, I wanted a women’s only class. On whim, I was online doing some Christmas shopping and decided to see what was available near me as a ‘treat’ for myself. I was literally OVER-THE-MOON to see a women’s only class in Parma, and it took me 0.25 seconds to make the decision to go. 

I was nervous. Candy, you are amazing. Your assistants are incredible. Everyone is super knowledgeable and patient. The atmosphere was energetic and filled with enthusiasm and encouragement. There is no doubt that you love what you do. I’m excited to take more classes with you. You’ve a new student waiting for you to launch your class schedule!

Firearms are a big fear of mine. Candy & her family made me so comfortable, not only with so much great information, but especially when it came to range time. They took the time to make sure I feel comfortable before proceeding & to take breaks to work thru the jitters. I can't thank you all enough & because of this great experience, I now look forward to exploring it more. 

Learning to shoot a gun can be nerve racking as it is and my mother in law and I did not feel 100% comfortable signing up for classes with men. This opportunity gave us a safe and positive environment to learn about gun safety and mechanics from passionate women. They cared about our safety and understood the dangers we as women face simply because we’re women! I went from never hitting a target to hitting one 10 times in a row on my first range shots because of their thorough instruction! I also found that the way they taught clicked better for me then the previous instruction I had received. The instructors were patient, kind, and understanding and strove to make accommodations when necessary. I highly recommend this class!! 

Thank you so much for being a great instructor and for having me! I definitely think I would like to take another class for gun safety, because I don’t feel like I’m comfortable using one yet. Also I would like to take a self defense class. 

I really enjoyed the class and you are extremely knowledgeable and I think you were awesome listening to! I learned a lot.

Candy, I want to THANK YOU for taking the time and attention with me during First Shots Training class.  I walked in a bit nervous, but you made the class fun, easy to engage with and very informative.  The "hands-on" training, besides being really fun, gave me the chance to try out new skills with immediate feedback confirming that I had a GREAT Teacher.  

I hope to train with you again soon to advance my new favorite hobby.

If you've never shot a rifle but want to learn, Candy's class is a great introduction to the rifle.  If you don't own a rifle, she can help you rent one, and if you do own a rifle, she can help you learn how to use it.  Candy will give you plenty of time to get comfortable with a rifle, but she won't forget to take you on the range for a little bit of shooting too.  Candy provides excellent instruction and one-on-one attention.  The class is a great investment of time (and money) for anyone who's been curious about using a rifle but were too afraid to ask!

Yesterday, at the Brigade range, I  really didn't know what to expect in the class.  However, his instruction and way of teaching is spot on. It was a pleasure to be there and I'm looking forward to the next class.

Hey Candy,

I have been learning to use a firearm for several years, and one of the biggest lessons is that no one can tell you which firearm is right for you. You have to try it yourself. I learned that after having someone purchase a firearm for me that simply did not work well for me.

When I decided to find the right fit, Candy was a huge help. I have very small hands, so I researched several options and then took lessons with her. She let me try firearms she owns and helped me rent others so I could compare them. Over time, I narrowed it down to the one that fit me best.

The difference has been amazing. I shoot better, feel more confident, and actually enjoy shooting now.

If you are new to shooting or considering a firearm purchase, I highly recommend taking a lesson with Candy first. Having the right firearm makes all the difference.
